Stem Cell Therapy.
Stem Cell Therapy is a minimally invasive therapy using your own blood to promote healing,
How it works
Stem Cells
These special cells are different than other cells in your body. They can divide and duplicate themselves and can transform into different types of cells such as a cartilage cell. The idea behind this therapy is placing the stem cell close to the impacted area such as a cartilage issue, the stem cell will develop into healthy cartilage cells helping heal or improve the specific area.
They come from the patient
These stem cells come from the patient’s blood. It’s reinjected into the patient’s problem area.
How long it takes
Stem cell therapy can be done in our office by a qualified and training health care professional. It usually takes around 30 minutes. It can take a few weeks for the patient to feel relief.
Where Stem Cells Are Used
Stem cell therapy are increasingly being used for sports injuries of the following areas:
– Muscles, cartilage, ligaments and tendons
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)
This biologic therapy can help with healing in certain injuries. PRP takes some of the patient’s own blood, concentrates the platelets and reinjects it into the injured area which can stimulate healing. The entire process takes less than one hour.
PRP can be used for:
– Ligament or tendon injuries
– Back and neck pain
– Osteoarthritis
– Rotator cuff injuries
PRP therapy can be used by itself of in conjunction with other treatment therapies.
