Chiropractic Care
For more than 100 years, chiropractic care has been the leading natural and non-invasive approach to treating chronic spinal pain conditions. The field of chiropractic medicine continues to change, and our clinic specializes in using the best combination of chiropractic care with spinal rehabilitative exercises for pain management and pain relief.
Chiropractic care works by first relieving the tension or inflammation to the delicate nerves of the spine. This irritation to spinal nerves is the chief cause of spinal pain. Then, we can strengthen and rehabilitate the area, giving our patients a healthier spine overall.
When chiropractic adjustments are given to relieve the pressure placed on the nerves of the spine, relief is noticed almost instantly. This relationship between the spine and nervous system is the focus of chiropractic treatment. With Chiropractic care, patients not only respond to spinal conditions, but also to other health conditions affecting the entire body.
Physical Therapy
Physical therapy focuses on improving muscle flexibility, strength, and joint function. This can help with increased balance, coordination, kinesthetic awareness, and better posture.
Physical therapy reduces pain and dysfunction by correcting imbalances. This is all achieved through specific exercises, therapy, and modalities individualized for each patient’s condition. Our staff develop unique treatment plans for each patient’s condition.
Physical therapy requires active participation of the patient in the clinic 2-3 times per week (30-45 minutes) and home exercises daily. The duration of therapy varies by condition but generally consists of 4-6 weeks. Patients who follow the program provided by their therapist receive the most benefit.
Decompression Therapy
Decompression Traction Systems (DTS) focuses on repairing disc damage by helping stretch the area. Research has shown that a disc injury may be the primary cause of back and leg pain.
Overtime, loss of muscle strength, poor posture, and trauma can increase the pressure on these discs which causes pain. DTS stretches the spine in a safe, controlled and very specific way to open the disc space. This decreases pressure on the area which allows blood flow to reduce inflammation and promote healing.
Traction therapy works with the body’s natural healing process so it’s not an overnight cure. 12 sessions are typically the minimum number of treatments for a disc injury.
DTS is a safe and comfortable treatment for most of our patients. Ask your provider if decompression therapy is right for you.
